Red Sox Beckett Rocked by Pirates

Does anyone really care if Josh Becket gave up five runs and two homers - one by Ronny Cedeno (left) against the Pirates today?  I’m sure the good people of Pittsburgh, who are still desperately searching for something to believe in after the Super Bowl are thrilled by this offensive outburst today.

And the good people of Boston are most likely consoling themselves that it’s just March 13^th and the games mean nothing.  So much of Spring Training is about pitch counts and building your endurance for the long marathon that starts March 31^st and so we take things with a grain of salt.

And for the time being the Pirates beat the Red Sox and all is well in Steel Town, you know, until the next natural gas well explodes or some such.

4IP, 4hits, 5 runs, 5 ER, 2BB, 5 SO, 2 HR, 6.52 ERA
